Daniel B. Walter is the founder and Senior Principal of Walter Consulting. Dan’s professional background includes over twenty years experience in strategic planning for health care providers in both the hospital and consulting setting. Dan is a nationally recognized leader in the field of post-acute care, and brings to both acute care and post-acute clients extensive knowledge in the strategic, operational, and financial components of either side of this continuum.
Prior to founding Walter Consulting, Dan was the National Post-acute Practice Manager for Noblis, a multi-industry not-for-profit consulting firm, as well as a Partner with Gill/Balsano Consulting, a specialty consulting firm with a major focus of post-acute care. (Dan joined Gill/Balsano Consulting in 1992, which was acquired by Noblis in 2004.) Additional experience includes hospital-based strategic planning responsibilities for a large regional health system, and Regional Director for a national hospital management company.
Dan has published widely in health care journals, is active in professional associations and has been a featured speaker on multiple topics related to post-acute care, including emerging trends for the industry. Dan holds a Masters of Business Administration from Georgia State University and a Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Tracey Nixon
Tracey brings to clients over 20 years of clinical, operational, quality/compliance and managerial experience in multiple post-acute settings, including National Director of Clinical Operations for a national post-acute provider. Tracey is a nationally recognized expert in IRF/IRU, SNF, and LTCH operations and compliance issues, and is a frequent speaker with industry provider associations.
Wanda Wright
Wanda is the practice leader for market analysis. Wanda is an expert in data base management, and has significant experience in successfully managing national, state and regional databases. Additionally, Wanda’s expertise includes the management of hospital-specific files encompassing diagnostic, demographic, and financial data elements.
